Great turnout for our charity Cars ‘n Carvery event last Sunday with 17 cars and over 30 guests for lunch at Lanhydrock Golf club.
Our first charity event certainly proved to be a great success, with a great selection of cars meeting up at Williams Crawford “Passion for Porsche” in Saltash for a coffee and a chat before we headed off at 10 am for our 3-hour route before lunch. Cheers to Richard and Adrian at WC for their continued support of GTTourz and for opening up the doors on a cold Sunday morning, it was very much appreciated!
The scenic roads of Cornwall that we had chosen for this drive day were a change to the normal routes we use on the north coast, as this time we headed off to the south coast via St Austell, Truro and onto the fantastic roads of the St Mawes peninsula for a coffee pit stop.
We then retraced our route back for the first few miles through the peninsula, before turning onto some fast-flowing tarmac, heading for the A390. Some of us made the next turn and headed for Bodmin, via the lanes, some didn’t follow the map and made quite a few wrong turns discovering their own route back to Lanhydrock Golf Club, mostly on the A30 so some fun was had by all.
Thankfully all made it back in time for their well-deserved carvery lunch, that was excellently hosted by GTTourz customers, Grahame and Clare Bond, the owners of the silver GT3, and the owners of Lanhydrock golf club. Thanks again for hosting us on our inaugural charity drive day, everyone loved it and hopefully we will be back for more of the same next year!
